Trojan Baths founder Maurice Mosley turns 90!

Having founded Trojan in 1975, Maurice Mosley has spent half of his life manufacturing top quality baths, and today his 140 strong team at the Ramsden Mills site in Huddersfield helped celebrate this significant birthday in style. With a rapturous round of applause as Maurice was driven into the site, all employees lined both sides of the works drive to then sing happy birthday as Maurice was presented with a birthday cake – with huge sparklers to mark the occasion! All staff gave three loud cheers as many congratulated Maurice personally, having worked together for over 35 years in some cases. Maurice then spent the day walking around the 11 acre site thanking everyone

In his 45 years at the helm of Trojan, Maurice has weathered many storms, from national recessions to factory fires yet remains resolute in his desire to produce top quality baths, here in the UK.

While historically Trojan have been continually underestimated by their competitors Maurice has continued to live by the saying, “it’s not the size of the dog in the fight it’s the size of the fight in the dog”, which has served him well in his 90 years!

From a small acorn a mighty oak has grown and current Trojan Managing Director, Maurice’s youngest son, David Mosley is confident of the future of the business,

“Today Trojan employs 170 people over three sites in Huddersfield and we are one of the largest and most respected bath manufacturers in Europe; an industry brand that people respect, trust and admire.

And we really must thank my Dad for this. Over the years he has fought hard to retain jobs in Yorkshire and continually produce a high quality product. He is a true inspiration and to see his face when the whole workforce turned out to wish him a happy birthday is something that will remain with me forever!’

‘At 90 years old, Dad still comes into the office every day and whilst not directly involved has an opinion on everything – he is a true inspiration and we are thrilled that his lifelong passion is still going strong, very much like him’.
