Finalists Announced For Elements Of Innovation Award

Finalists for this year’s Elements of Innovation Awards have been announced. Taking place during the UK’s only dedicated furniture components show, Elements and woodworking machinery and materials show, the W Exhibition, 20 of the most ground-breaking products to enter the British furniture design and manufacturing industry have been shortlisted and are now in with the chance of winning a prestigious Gold, Silver or Bronze award.

The independent judging panel, made up of five well-known industry professionals, will now have to whittle down the shortlisted entries even further in a bid to cement the worthy winners. Acting CEO of the British Woodworking Federation and judge on the panel says, “We’re looking for products that break the mould and have the potential to change the way the industry works. The judges are looking to support innovation and recognise the skills needed and processes undergone to create the end result. This means it’s equally as important for us to empower originality and encourage talent in the industry.”

On being shortlisted, OVVO’s Brendan Phillips says, “We are extremely happy to have our brand new OVVO Drawer Slide Connector shortlisted for an Elements of Innovation Award. We will be launching the new connector system at the show, so it’s fantastic that the benefits of the product are being recognised by the industry.”

Shortlisted for its Cabineo system, Lamello’s Shaye Chatfield says, “The W Exhibition and Elements are the biggest shows of their kind in the UK and we were keen to present our innovations to the judging panel. It’s a great achievement for our Cabineo system to be shortlisted and we’re looking forward to finding out the winner.”

Ostermann’s Stephen Parson says, “Many people associate Ostermann with edging but being shortlisted for an Elements of Innovation Award has highlighted our continual development and research into surface coverings. We’re particularly proud of our Almwiese Decorative panels. The scented surface is made of alpine grass and flowers, which gives commercial or private interiors a rare, natural and relaxing atmosphere. It’s great that unique concepts such as this are being acknowledged in the sector.”

Lisa Campagnola, Event Director adds, “This year has seen the largest number of products being submitted for the Elements of Innovation Awards and the calibre of entries has surpassed all expectations. The judges certainly have their work cut out as they look to recognise and reward the people and companies behind these unique concepts.”

Winners will be announced at the show on Monday 1^st October at 3pm, with an awards presentation being held at the show’s Hranipex Bar. Open to all visitors, it will offer the audience a unique opportunity to see the complete line-up for themselves and talk to the winners about their award-winning products.
