Victoria + Albert launches Laceno, a collection of four contemporary undermount basins

The four undermount basins come in oval and rectangular shapes. The oval basins are available in sizes of 500mm and 550mm, while the rectangular ones come in 480mm and 550mm. Each basin includes an internal overflow and is designed for installation beneath a countertop. The oval Laceno basins are deeper with the drain at the back, differing from Victoria + Albert’s Kaali range. The rectangular Laceno basins, deeper than the Kaldera, feature a smooth “stadium” shaped interior.

Undermount basins are becoming more popular within Victoria + Albert’s offerings, accounting for one in every four sales. They’re favored for creating a unique, “bespoke” look, especially when inset into wood or marble tops. These basins match well with Riobel or Perrin & Rowe mixers from the House of Rohl, whether they are single lever, 3-hole, or wall-mounted.

Unlike ceramic options, Laceno basins are available in both Gloss and Matt finishes, with the Matt finish being a new, cost-free addition that has seen significant interest. This finish is velvety to the touch and diffuses light, contributing to a calming bathroom atmosphere, especially when matched with a Matt bath. Over 200 RAL color finishes are also available for Victoria + Albert’s bath and basin collections.

All Victoria + Albert products, including the new undermounts, are made from Quarrycast™, a blend of milled Volcanic Limestone™ and a special resin, offering durability, stain, and scratch resistance. A 25-year guarantee is provided for residential use. The new Laceno undermounts start at £300 excluding VAT and will be on sale from March 1, 2024.
