RAK Ceramics Raises More Than £17,000 For Rowans Hospice In Inagural Charity Golf Day.

Seventy Two Players participated in 18 Holes of Golf at the Warwickshire Golf & Country Golf on 25th July to raise money to support palliative and end of life care for people across Portsmouth & South East Hampshire.

The first golf day, held by the global ceramic’s manufacturer, based in Frenchman’s Road, raised £17,246.34 for The Rowans Hospice.

The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and with great weather it was an opportunity to raise much needed funds for the charity. As well as the golf tournament, teams were invited to a formal dinner, which included networking and an auction.

The Hospice, now in it’s 25th year, is celebrating their ‘Silver Jubilee year’ and now with multiple locations in Petersfield has been RAK Ceramics chosen charity since 2016.

Alvin Biggs, Managing Director of RAK Ceramics, highlighted ‘It is fantastic to raise money for a such a great charity. The staff at RAK Ceramics over the years have been very good at getting behind the Charity, jumping out of planes, dance marathons, midnight walks, and half marathons have all been done to raise money and I am extremely proud of all the staff that have taken part.

Gemma Carden, Corporate Engagement Lead at Rowans Hospice, thanked RAK Ceramics for their continued support ‘We are incredibly fortunate to have such great relationships with local businesses in Petersfield including RAK Ceramics. Every item of our care must be funded through fundraising and every penny we raise really makes a difference to the lives of our patients and families’

RAK Ceramics are committed to supporting the work that The Rowans Hospice do in the local community and have already set a date of the 23rd July 2020 to hold their second golf day.
