For Milan Design Week, Florim confirms its presence at both the Salone del Mobile and the Fuorisalone with the project “PIAZZA CASTELLO Milano gentile”, created by two leading figures in international design: Nicola Gallizia and Matteo Thun.
The concept takes shape through the collaboration between the two studios, whose visions converge into a shared design narrative celebrating the company’s presence in the historic heart of Milan. The inspiration stems from the harmonious urban layout of Piazza Castello, where the curved line of Foro Buonaparte becomes the defining gesture of the installation, giving rise to the idea of a “Milano gentile” made of soft lines, balance, continuity, and proportion. A quiet beauty that, without imposing itself, exerts a strong sense of attraction and curiosity.
The project showcases Florim collections developed in collaboration with some of the most influential names in contemporary design: Cristina Celestino with Segnature, Nicola Gallizia with Rinascenza, Gensler with Formatech, and Matteo Thun & Partners with SensiColore and SensiEtna. Both installations also feature the FLORIM stone brand, with new surfaces for the furniture sector and the innovative DeepSoul technology.
At Rho Fiera Milano, the Florim stand appears at first glance as a neutral volume that opens up internally through a curved gesture – echoing Piazza Castello – guiding visitors through a sequence of spaces where materials and colors define a soft, understated sophistication, enhanced by the use of small formats. The collections on display at the Salone are interconnected and combined into families based on colour and material affinity, creating evocative, cross-collection compositions.
The concept continues at the FLORIM Flagship Store on Foro Buonaparte, where visitors are welcomed by a scenographic installation defined by the same curved motif that shapes the overall project. A soft, continuous, and controlled line that interprets the welcoming morphology of the urban space and invites direct interaction with the surfaces. In this context, the curvature of the surfaces is made possible by the exceptional flexibility of FLORIM skin slabs, just 3 mm thick.
