Nationwide YouGov poll reveals positive post-pandemic lifestyle changes

A nationwide poll commissioned by leading bathroom designer and manufacturer, Geberit, reveals the positive lifestyle changes being made by adults across the UK in the last 18 months.

Findings from a YouGov poll of 2,000 adults found that more than half (51%) of respondents had improved self-care habits since the pandemic began. Exercising more (21%) was the most popular lifestyle change, with almost one in five (18%) altering their diet as well as getting more sleep.

This shift towards adopting positive changes in lifestyle was reinforced by 34% of respondents who stated they now put time aside daily to relax.

Sophie Weston, channel marketing manager at Geberit, said: “Living in lockdown has, of course, changed everything, with the lasting legacy of the past 18 months revealing that many of us are more aware of the importance of wellbeing than ever before.

“The survey findings have not only shown the increased significance of the bathroom and self-care routines, but the importance of the bathroom as our sanctuary as we crave an escape from the strains of modern life. Simple lifestyle changes, such as a healthy diet, regular exercise and getting enough sleep all contribute towards a good self-care routine too.”

To enhance wellbeing, the perfect sanctuary can easily be created in the home with simple design changes. Opt for natural materials like wood, slate and stone to bring warm and comfort to the space, and choose earthy colour palettes for towels, tiles and trimmings to further elevate that connection to the great outdoors.
