Bathroom products manufacturer Methven is working with the UK’s leading specialist care home developer to assist with water and energy saving requirements.
LNT Care Developments, which operates across the UK with a portfolio of more than 230 developed sites, were recommended to Methven by to engage in discussions on how the brand’s portfolio of showers and taps can assist with safety and sustainability.
Original conversations were focused on Methven supplying shower valves, however a collaboration between the two grew thanks to Methven’s extensive product portfolio and service commitments aligning with the requirements of LNT, which is now set to introduce the Avoca range – which has been launched this year by Methven to support housing and care home providers across the UK in achieving decarbonisation targets – across a number of sites, starting in Q3.
This follows on from the two organisations working together to quickly facilitate the roll out of Methven showers promoting safety and water efficiency at 8 sites LNT sites already, with a sharp turnaround and flexibility key to the success of this initiative. Seven further sights are scheduled to be completed before the end of 2024.
Sean Hague, Senior Mechanical Contracts Manager at LNT, said:
“Methven were recommended to us on the basis that not only were their products of the highest quality, but that they were backed by a team of knowledgeable and supportive sales staff.
“We are always looking at ways in which we can enhance our sustainability efforts and the bathroom presents a huge opportunity for us to do that.
“It’s a space that is frequently used every day and where technology is becoming increasingly sophisticated when it comes to reducing water usage.
LNT had a requirement which Methven could support with straight from the off, with Lyndsey Makin, National Field Sales Manager, tasked with providing a bespoke specification consisting of showers and matching brassware.
As well as considering the technical side of the project, the Methven products presented needed to fit into LNT’s pre-fabricated design model. A three-handle concealed shower, shower heads and matching brassware were submitted, utilising Methven’s patented Satinjet technology.
Satinjet technology creates optimum water droplet size and pressure, with over 300,000 droplets per second, operating at eight litres per minute and 5.5 litres per minute at low flow.
Lyndsey said: “We pride ourselves on having the products and the team to be able to support customers old and new with their water saving requirements, whether that’s with a long-term view or a short-term interim solution.
“With LNT we can demonstrate our expertise in both areas, arranging a bespoke solution utilising our current product range, while working alongside Sean and the team to highlight the benefits of our new Avoca range can bring to their operation.
“It’s been an exciting start to working with LNT and we’re looking forward to the future.”
