In May 2026, premium appliance brand, Miele will launch a range of 80cm and 90cm downdraft extractor hoods featuring integrated lighting. First unveiled at IFA, the new minimalistic models combine high-performance air purification, high-quality materials and smart technology with an innovative lighting concept that creates atmospheric accents in the kitchen.
NEW Integrated Lighting
Miele’s integrated lighting concept enables the colour and intensity of the lighting to be individually adjusted via the Miele app. Top-of-the-range models will also feature a surrounding LED light strip to create atmospheric accents – either while cooking or independently in ambient mode, which only requires the hood to be extended by 2cm. The deflector plate is height adjustable in three stages for maximum extraction, pleasant lighting or an unobstructed view across the island or worktop.

Minimalistic Design
Embracing minimalist design to suit open and broken plan kitchens, when not in use the extractor fan disappears discreetly into the worktop, sitting flush to the hob. A tap on the gentle recess in the black glass panel is all it takes for the deflector plate to move quietly into position behind the hob. To make cleaning easy, the ten-layer stainless steel grease filters feature a high-quality cover layer that is dishwasher safe.
Smart Technology
Miele’s Con@ctivity function provides additional convenience, as the extractor hood and hob communicate with each other and automatically adjust the extraction power to suit the cooking activity. It is also possible to control the hood directly via a small control panel on the hob, without having to reach over hot pots.

Efficient Extraction
For ultimate flexibility, the new models can be used in both extraction and recirculation mode. Two odour filters are available for recirculation mode – one made of pleated material and another that can be refreshed in the oven. Meanwhile, the base cabinet conceals powerful yet energy efficient ventilation technology for extracting cooking fumes and odours.
