As KBB Birmingham 2026 closed its doors, InSinkErator reflected on an inspiring and forward-looking event that highlighted the mounting importance of responsible food waste management in the kitchen. With mandatory food waste separation for English households now in effect under the Simpler Recycling scheme, the brand’s message this year struck a chord with visitors.
Throughout the exhibition, InSinkErator engaged kitchen retailers, designers, and consumers in meaningful discussions about how its food waste disposers can complement composting and food caddies, helping to maintain clean, hygienic kitchens while supporting national sustainability goals.
A key talking point was the company’s COMPOST CADDY EASY strategy, an educational campaign designed to make modern food waste management simple and effective. The interactive KBB stand gave visitors first-hand experience of the benefits and functionality of InSinkErator’s product range, including models from the innovative Next Generation food waste disposer collection and a selection of instant hot water taps.
On Monday 2nd March, the brand welcomed BSc nutritionist, two-time Sunday Times bestselling author and popular influencer Emily English, for its exclusive press event and book signing. Having amassed over 2.2m followers on Instagram and more than 900,000 on TikTok, Emily uses her own kitchen as her studio and regularly features her own InSInkErator in her content.
At the event, Emily discussed her passion for food and the organic way she discovered the brand, explaining why she’s an advocate and how her food waste disposer has impacted the way she thinks about mealtime preparation and clear up.
Joined on stage by Ashley Munden, Managing Director EMEA, he commented:
“This year’s event was an important opportunity to engage with the industry at a time of significant change. With new waste and recycling regulations coming into force, retailers and designers are increasingly looking for practical ways to help customers manage unavoidable food waste more effectively. Food waste disposers play a key role in that conversation, offering a hygienic, convenient solution that works alongside food caddies and composting systems to support compliant kitchen design.
“KBB provided the perfect platform to demonstrate how InSinkErator can help the industry respond confidently to these changes. Our press event with Emily was a real highlight – not only showcasing her enthusiasm for the product but also creating a valuable space to discuss the evolving regulatory landscape with members of the media while sharing lunch and conversation.
“As the industry continues to adapt to new requirements around food waste separation, we remain committed to supporting our partners with solutions that make compliance simple while enhancing everyday kitchen functionality. We’re already looking forward to continuing that conversation with retailers and kitchen designers.”
