Hansgrohe Group leads the way with Water Regulation Approvals
The Hansgrohe Group, comprising of renowned brands AXOR and hansgrohe, continues to set the industry bar for the number of water-regulated approved products on the market. Leading the way with over 1000 approved products from recognised approval bodies WRAS, Kiwa and NSF, the group prides itself on ensuring its products meet national standards of safety and quality, ensuring suitability for commercial and residential installation across the UK.
This impressive figure puts the group ahead of its competitors in terms of the number of approved products, with an extensive list of approved basin and kitchen mixers, concealed and exposed bath and shower mixers, bath fillers, hand showers, individual shut-off valves and diverter controls.
When installing any product which carries or delivers water from the public supply, it is a legal requirement that it complies with Regulation 4 of the ‘Water Supply Regulations’. These stipulate that a water fitting does not cause waste, misuse, undue consumption or contamination of the water supply, whilst being of an appropriate quality or standard. WRAS, Kiwa and NSF approvals are the best ways to demonstrate compliance and are accepted as evidence by UK water suppliers, reducing the risk of regulation contravention or prosecution.
The Hansgrohe Group acknowledges the importance of such compliance and how this links to a larger objective to continue innovating and providing quality products that last, so they stand at the forefront of the market. It is for these reasons it invests significantly in certification, with over £2m spent globally each year.
Michael Lomath, Hansgrohe’s Technical Manager, comments ‘Not only does WRAS, Kiwa and NSF approval demonstrate compliance with regulation 4, it also gives the user confidence that the product they have purchased is fit for purpose as the testing is extremely rigorous. For example, a basin mixer during mechanical endurance testing, is turned on and off 200,000 times, and a swivel spout turned 80,000 times.’
Jay Phillips, Hansgrohe UK’s Managing Director comments ‘As a German manufacturer, Hansgrohe delivers German performance and engineering backed by UK regulations. Supported by a comprehensive five-year guarantee, we have invested significantly in approvals and certifications to ensure that specifiers have options across a wide product range and covering a spectrum of budgets and designs, whilst ensuring they have complete peace of mind when choosing Hansgrohe products.’
