London, September 16, 2025 — “Skilled for a greener future” — under this motto, EuroSkills Herning 2025 took place from September 9 to 13. The largest vocational education and skills excellence event in Europe highlighted the pivotal role of skilled professionals in implementing green technologies to drive the global environmental transformation. As a Premium Sponsor, GROHE supported the Plumbing and Heating competition, also providing products for installation. After three intense days, Johannes Gstrein from Austria triumphed over 14 peers from across Europe to become the acting European Champion in Plumbing and Heating.
Fostering the Future
Installers are essential to our society, especially amid the urgent shift toward greener technologies driven by the climate crisis. Putting the profession in the spotlight is an important task as the sanitary industry is facing challenges in attracting young talent to open positions worldwide. While there is an increasing demand for installers, the number of people pursuing this career path keeps declining.
Driving sustainability through innovation
GROHE’s commitment to the industry goes beyond preparing future professionals. As a reliable partner, the brand is dedicated to supporting tradespeople with advice and practical solutions to make their day-to-day work easier. With its comprehensive portfolio, GROHE has created a unique product and service proposition tailored to the needs of its professional partners. One of the solutions the contestants worked with was the GROHE Rapido Shower Frame, which allows for the installation of a concealed shower system in just three steps. At its booth, GROHE showcased how this product, developed to support installers’ efficiency, can form the basis of a new sustainable solution: the GROHE Rapido Heat Recovery Shower System.
These efforts help address the shortage of installers while raising the profile and recognition of the profession and building skills and solutions for a sustainable tomorrow.
