Further Nu-Style expansion in Yorkshire to meet Perform Panel demand
High-quality laminate panel manufacturer Nu-Style Products, part of the Donaldson Group, has opened its second distribution centre in England.
Located in Barnsley, the 4,500ft2 centre is the second location to open in England in the last 12 months. The site will trade under the Perform Panel name.
Perform Panel offers a stylish and cost-effective alternative to tiles, offering a number of hygiene and maintenance benefits, as well as versatility and ease of installation. The high quality laminate wall panels are suitable for various internal applications within both domestic and commercial environments.
The move forms part of Nu-Style’s five-year strategy, which has included a £1 million investment to increase both capacity and quality. Across the UK, new machinery and upgraded sites have substantially increased production capacity for Perform Panel, enabling Nu-Style to grow sales while boosting the product range, moving from 16 decors to 48 designs across three collections.
Nigel Tipper, Business Development Manager with 28 years’ experience in the panel industry, will be leading sales in the area.
The Barnsley site employs four full-time people, with further recruitment anticipated, demonstrating commitment to the area and generating new opportunities in local employment via the distribution centre and van fleet.

Nu-Style has over 70 years of experience and is well known in the industry, particularly for its shower panel brand, Perform Panel, which the business has been manufacturing for 35 years. Nu-Style’s head office is based in Aberdeen, Scotland and Barnsley is the second site to open in England, after the successful launch of its first English distribution centre in Birmingham in September 2021, in response to increasing demand for the products across the UK and Europe.
Nu-Style joined the James Donaldson Group in 2016. The 162-year-old family business comprises 17 specialist timber and building product businesses, operating throughout the UK from 46 locations employing over 1,600 people.
