Franke retailers raise a Blooming Great £4,697 for Marie Curie

In June, Franke helped its More in Store retailers to host ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ events across the country to raise funds for Marie Curie.  Funds have now been counted-up with 87 retailers and supporters raising a total of £4,697 for the charity.

Franke has been supporting the event for the past six years and has raised a total of over £28,000 for Marie Curie which supports people living with a terminal illness, and their families.

Award-winning cookbook author and culinary historian, Regula Ysewijin, created an exclusive Victoria sponge cake for this year’s tea parties and Franke donated two to each participating retailer.  In honour of Queen Victoria’s 200th anniversary, Regula took the cake back to its original roots, serving it up in fingers as opposed to the round shape we all know today.

Franke also provided retailers with free marketing packs which included posters, postcards and tent cards to help them promote the event in their local communities.

Jeanette Ward Franke Communications Manager said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support of all of our wonderful retailers who have supported the ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ events both this year, and since we launched in 2014.  To have raised a total of £28,000 during that time to support the incredible work of Marie Curie is something they can all be proud of and we’d like to thank them for the hard work they put in to making the event a success.”
