Barkers Home of Interiors is a newly opened bathroom, kitchen and interiors showroom based in Maidstone, Kent. The business has joined The IPG, keen to make the best use of the support and opportunities that The IPG can bring to independent businesses.

Barkers was created to offer a more joined-up experience for customers who want clear advice, good-quality products and a reliable installation process.

Based at the Powerhub Business Centre, the 10,000ft2 showroom is one of the largest independent interiors spaces in the county.

The showroom has been laid out to feel approachable rather than overwhelming, with full bathroom and kitchen displays alongside clearly presented finishes and materials, allowing visitors to see how different products can work together in real settings, rather than as isolated samples.

Support under one roof

A key part of Barkers’ business is that it offers a “full, turnkey solution”, with design, supply and installation all handled by the same business.

Customers are supported right from the first conversation through to completion, with plumbing, electrics, tiling, plastering and decorating all carried out by an in-house team. By keeping all the work under direct management and with no subcontractors, the business can maintain consistent standards and clear communication, something that is greatly valued by both homeowners and trade clients who want projects to progress smoothly and predictably.

Major brands on show

The showroom brings together a wide range of established brands, giving customers choice across different styles and price points.

Bathroom and kitchen names such as Aqualla, Adamsez, Utopia, Calypso, Burlington and JJO Kitchens are displayed alongside tiles from Ca’ Pietra, Amtico flooring, Mas Maya decorative plaster finishes, wallpaper collections and paint ranges from Dulux Heritage and Dulux Trade.

Permanent displays allow customers to compare options properly and make informed decisions without feeling rushed.

A dedicated consultation and mood board area sits at the heart of the showroom and plays an important role in the design process. Here, customers can work through layouts, colours and finishes with the Barkers team, helping to build confidence before any work starts and reducing the risk of changes later on. The space has been designed to support practical conversations as well as creative ones, making it useful for interior designers, builders and developers as well as private clients.

The business was founded by Joshua Barker, who also owns Easy Installations. A bathroom installer by trade, Joshua set up Easy Installations in August 2021 with the aim of improving the standard of bathroom fitting across Kent.

Since then, the company has completed hundreds of installations in the region, building a strong reputation through hands-on experience rather than showroom sales alone. The launch of Barkers Home of Interiors  marks the next stage of that journey, creating a physical space that reflects the way the business already works on site.

Open seven days a week and welcoming walk-in visitors, the showroom has been created to serve homeowners, trades and property professionals alike. Alongside creating new local jobs, the investment at Powerhub Business Centre underlines Barkers’ commitment to the local area, with plans already in place to build on this first location as the business continues to grow.
