Abode, award-winning designer and distributor of market leading kitchen sinks & taps, Pronteau instant hot water taps, bathroom taps & showering solutions is named a finalist in the ‘Brand Achievement Award’ category at this year’s designerati Awards, in recognition of its ongoing charity and voluntary work in the community.
Established in 2002 and based in South Yorkshire, Abode looks ahead to 14 November 2024, where the winners will be revealed at designerati’s prestigious awards ceremony at City Central at the HAC on Chiswell Street, London.
The Brand Achievement Award acknowledges the great leaps forward made by industry brands that go above and beyond their day-to-day business operations from sustainable leadership, trailblazing marketing techniques, and bold rebranding, to a commitment to apprenticeships. Leanne Stansfield, Marketing Manager at Abode says, “As a business, offering support which goes beyond ‘sinks and taps’ is also extremely important to us and so, we are thrilled that our ongoing charity efforts and work in the community have been recognised at industry-level!”
Abode has and continues to help many worthy causes in the community and its dedicated team have become an essential part of demonstrating support from the brand and arranging fundraising events for local and national charities. The combined team spirit and willingness to help those in need is inherent to the business culture at Abode, as it continues to make a lasting impact throughout the business and wider population.
Contributions to different organisations by Abode include charitable donations, sponsorship and fundraising through to volunteering for hands-on gardening and food projects, litter cleanups, and social events like a long-distance walk, Olympic distance triathlon, 10km run, and skydive!
Everyone in the Abode family is thrilled to be a finalist at this year’s designerati Awards, and Matthew Pitt, Managing Director at Abode says “I am extremely proud of Abode in the community as we have always taken great pride in showing up, making a difference, and hopefully improving the lives of as many people as possible. I was lucky enough to take on the 84-mile challenge of The Dales Way sponsored walk, in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society. It took five days to complete, and we managed to raise over £1K… What a challenge!”
For many years, Abode has supported a number of national charities including Bluebell Wood, Ey Up Charity, Barnsley Hospital Children’s Ward, Kirkburton Scout Group, Canal and River Trust, Barnsley Food Bank, Alzheimer’s UK, Macmillan Cancer Support, and an orphanage in Sri Lanka.
Moving forwards, Abode will offer new opportunities for volunteering to its staff, along with company-wide sponsored charity events to continue to raise funds for those in need, who are local to both brand and business.
