Roca has nailed the latest trend for slatted furniture with its new Horizon range. The ultra-contemporary Horizon vanity combines matt finishes, natural materials and contrasting black or white (both gloss and matt) basins for a look that oozes high-end sophistication. It’s available in two sizes, 700mm and 900mm, making it a great solution for both family bathrooms and stylish ensuites.
One notable feature is the chic countertop, available in Calacatta White or Marquina Black cast marble. Cast marble is made by combining 97% marble powder with natural binding agents, providing a sustainable use for broken stone that would otherwise go to waste. The White Calacatta is created by digitally printing on top of a white cast marble countertop, while the Black Marquina countertop is made by alternating black and white marble layers during the casting process. This results in the beautiful look of marble in a non-porous, waterproof, and more hygienic material, ideal for a bathroom countertop.
For a finishing touch, the furniture is topped with a choice of Matt White, Gloss White, or Matt Black basins, available in two styles. You can select the Horizon View, with or without tap holes (600 x 420mm or 600 x 380mm), as seen below, or the Horizon Geometric (600 x 420mm, above), which features an angled waste.
Horizon’s good looks are attributed to its construction. The front panel consists of MDF slats, which are ideal for use in bathrooms due to their resistance to humidity and their ability to prevent warping or moving, unlike solid timber. MDF can also be dyed to a consistent colour, as seen in the dark-oak shade on Horizon, which has been hand-varnished to protect the MDF from water damage. Behind the slatted front, there is one large drawer with a hidden second drawer inside. This provides the convenience of two drawers while maintaining the sleek, uninterrupted appearance of the furniture’s front.
